Editing Camera Properties

The Camera properties dialog is shown whenever a Camera is added or edited. Camera properties can be edited individually, or several properties of several Cameras can be edited at the same time.

To Edit a Single Camera’s Properties

  • In the workspace, right-click inside the Camera to be edited and select “Edit Camera: [Camera Name]…” from the menu:

Or…

  • In the Object Directory, right click on the Camera to be edited and select “Edit Properties…” from the menu:
The Camera property dialog appears:

The property dialog has several sections:

  1. Name – modify the default Camera name to something more appropriate to the project.
  2. Preview – shows exactly what is in the Camera’s Field of View, respecting the position, size, and aspect ratio.
  3. Boundary Visibility – tick this box if the Camera’s boundary should be visible in recordings (videos and images). By default, this box is not ticked.
  4. Position, Dimensions and Aspect Ratio – parameters for the current Camera coverage, which can be modified here for precise adjustments.
    • Aspect ratio controls work as before. If a custom aspect ratio is selected, the custom ratio input box becomes visible.
    • Field of View sizes can be linked / unlinked to the aspect ratio by using the and buttons.

Make any required adjustments, then click OK to close the Camera property dialog.

To Edit Properties of Multiple Cameras at the Same Time

  • In the Output Bar, type “edit” and press <ENTER>, then in the workspace select all Cameras to be edited, the press <ENTER> again.

Or…

  • In the Object Directory, select all Cameras to be edited, then right-click on one of the selected items and choose “Edit Properties…” from the menu:

The Camera properties dialog appears, with some key differences compared to editing a single Camera:

  • The Camera name cannot be changed.
  • The Camera preview is not available.

Parameter fields are empty where parameters are not common to all selected Cameras, and only changed parameters will be updated in each of the selected Cameras.

Make any required adjustments, then click OK to close the Camera property dialog.
